Climate & Environmental Justice
The climate crisis isn’t a distant threat — it’s here, reshaping lives in Texas’s 33rd District and across America. From deadly heatwaves to polluted air, poisoned water, and fragile power grids, our communities — especially Black, Brown, and working-class neighborhoods — are paying the price while oil companies and their lobbyists cash in. Zeeshan’s vision is bold and urgent: a Green New Deal for Dallas–Fort Worth that delivers clean energy jobs, modern infrastructure, and true environmental justice. Because every family deserves clean air, safe water, and a livable future — not just the privileged few.

Green New Deal for Dallas–Fort Worth | Advocates for a regional Green New Deal: clean energy jobs, union apprenticeships, grid modernization, community solar, and electrification initiatives. | No support for a 'Green New Deal.' Lacks comprehensive climate-emergency framing. |
Ending Fossil Fuel Subsidies; Holding Polluters Accountable | Seeks full repeal of subsidies, bans new public land drilling/fracking, and demands environmental justice for communities of color. | Extensive support for Fossil Fuel Industry. |
Public Transit & Clean Mobility | Envisions accessible transit, electric buses, bike lanes, affordable options, and transit-oriented affordable housing in DFW. | No documented leadership or proposals specifically targeting transit electrification or mobility equity in the district. |

A Green New Deal for Dallas-Fort Worth — and All of America
We are facing a climate emergency — and while billionaires fly private jets and oil companies post record profits, working-class communities, especially communities of color, are choking on the consequences.
From scorching heatwaves in Texas to devastating floods, poisoned water, and polluted air, it’s clear: the environment is not separate from the economy or from justice. It’s all connected. And the solutions must be, too.
That’s why we’re fighting for a Green New Deal for Dallas-Fort Worth and America — a bold, jobs-focused plan to rapidly transition to clean energy, protect frontline communities, and ensure a livable planet for future generations.

Clean Energy Jobs & Grid Modernization
We don’t have to choose between a healthy planet and a strong economy — we build both together.
- Expanding solar and wind energy infrastructure across Texas
- Creating thousands of union, family-sustaining jobs in clean energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience
- Modernizing the electrical grid to prevent power outages, integrate renewables, and lower energy bills
- Prioritize training and apprenticeship programs in green industries — especially for youth, veterans, and displaced fossil fuel workers.
- Expand community solar projects, weatherization programs, and home electrification initiatives to lower costs and emissions at once.
Launch a Green New Deal for DFW focused on:
Let Texas lead the clean energy revolution — not just be held hostage by fossil fuel lobbyists.
End Fossil Fuel Subsidies & Hold Polluters Accountable
Taxpayers are still subsidizing the climate crisis — with billions in giveaways to oil, gas, and coal companies that pollute our air, poison our water, and endanger our future.
- End all federal fossil fuel subsidies and redirect that funding to clean energy research, public transit, and environmental restoration.
- Ban new fossil fuel drilling on public lands and phase out fracking in populated areas.
- Require corporate polluters to clean up their mess, pay fines, and face justice — no more blank checks for Exxon or Chevron.
- Crack down on toxic chemical dumping, industrial pollution, and environmental racism — especially in Black, Latino, and immigrant neighborhoods.

Environmental Justice for Communities of Color
- Create an Environmental Justice Fund to clean up lead, air toxins, and industrial waste in historically redlined neighborhoods.
- Guarantee air and water monitoring in high-risk zones, with real enforcement power to shut down polluters.
- Prioritize health clinics, green spaces, and tree canopies in areas most affected by climate-related illness, asthma, and extreme heat.
- Mandate free community access to cooling centers, emergency water distribution, and disaster preparedness services.
Climate justice is racial justice. Poor and BIPOC communities are the first to suffer and the last to recover from environmental disasters and decades of toxic neglect.
We will:
Everyone deserves clean air, safe water, and a healthy neighborhood — no matter your race or income.
Transit, Not Traffic: Clean, Affordable, and Accessible Mobility
- Expand public transit across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, including electric buses, high-speed rail, and commuter options.
- Invest in bike lanes, sidewalks, and car-free zones to support healthier, more connected communities.
- Ensure that low-income and disabled residents have free or reduced-cost transit options to access jobs, schools, and healthcare.
- Build transit-oriented affordable housing, so working families don’t have to choose between long commutes and safe neighborhoods.
A just climate transition means making it easier — and cheaper — for people to live, work, and travel without pollution.

A Livable Future for All — Not Just the Few
This isn’t just about saving the planet — it’s about redefining the American Dream. Clean energy. Good jobs. Thriving communities. Public health. Justice.
We don’t need more climate summits. We need bold legislation, local action, and political courage. If elected, I’ll bring all three to Congress — and fight every day for a green future rooted in equity and hope.

Let’s build a DFW and an America that breathes clean air, runs on clean energy, and puts people over polluters.
Truth Over Power. People Over Politics.
